Honest Art
WELCOME
David Ellis Flynn, known as Ewrks, is a Chicago-born African-American painter and artist whose work serves as both a personal chronicle and a form of resistance. Using a journal-like approach, he captures his experiences in the Western world, confronting societal structures through his art. His pieces merge personal storytelling with cultural critique, engaging with themes of race, identity, and existence through a unique visual lens.
A graduate of Chicago State University, Flynn has long been involved in both activist and artistic circles, using his creativity as a tool for questioning and challenging the world around him. He continues to live and create in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
